POINTS

Points Allocation

The 2012 season of the Touring Car Masters series is an eight round championship. At the completion of eight rounds, each competitor's lowest points scoring round (must be a round attended) will be excluded from the season points tally, and the remaining points allocation will determine the champions in both Classes A and B.

The points score has been refined, rewarding consistency across the classes and removing the power bias, again opening the championship and meaning that it may well be one of the consistent 'pack' vehicles taking home the series silverware.

Classes A and B are scored separately as individual titles, with the highest overall points scorer taking out the title of Series Champion. Both classes operate with the same points system, as below, through the allocation of race points by finishing position in class.

The driver in each class with the most points at the end of each round is declared the round winner.

In the event of two or more drivers in a class scoring the same number of points at a round, the driver with the higher placing in the final race is awarded the higher finishing position for the round.

The overall series title winner will be determined by the class winner with the highest allocation of points from their best seven round results from the season.

In the event of two or more drivers scoring equal points for the season, the driver with the greatest number of race wins is awarded the higher finishing position. If this is equal, the driver with the greatest number of second place finishes for the season is awarded the higher finishing position, and so on.

Any points a driver scores within a class will not be transferred if the driver changes class.
